Escape to our idyllic South Somerset holiday cottage in the quiet farming hamlet of Mudford Sock just two miles from the busy town of Yeovil. Shippon Barn holiday cottage offers a beautifully equipped two bedroom self catering cottage set within a tastefully converted set of barns surrounded by fields and apple orchards.

Our Yeovil holiday cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the beautiful South Somerset countryside with its historic attractions, walks and gardens. Our country  holiday cottage is also an ideal base for travellers with business links in Yeovil and the nearby Yeovilton airbase.

Shippon Barn holiday cottage is a ten-minute drive from the A303 and perfectly placed for a relaxing break on the holiday route to Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

Shippon Barn is part of a family farm which has been in our family for three generations. We lovingly converted the barn and cowsheds in 2000 and we opened our self catering holiday cottage in 2018. We have recently made the decision to close our Bed and Breakfast and concentrate on our self catering accommodation. We hope to open a new cottage called ‘Tom’s Barn’ in the very near future. Shippon Barn is warm and cosy all year round with a log burner as well as central heating powered by a bio-mass boiler.

We will welcome you to Shippon Barn with a complimentary afternoon cream tea with home made jam, scones and west country clotted cream. If the weather is fine you may also enjoy sitting outside in enclosed garden and use the barbecue. We welcome dogs and have a dedicated dog walk area as well as many beautiful local footpaths.
